Washington, DC – Yesterday, the House Committee on Appropriations passed a bill that included several priorities championed by U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright, a member of the committee. The FY18 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (MilCon-VA) appropriations bill included robust funding for suicide prevention, opioid abuse treatment, and homeless assistance for veterans.
Today, U.S. Congressman Matt Cartwright introduced a resolution to increase awareness about cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks. This legislation would designate February 26 through March 4 as National Spinal CSF Leak Awareness Week.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 3 students say they have been bullied at school. Moreover, 1 out of 10 students who drops out of school does so because of repeated bullying.
