Jan 27, 2017
Press Release

Northampton, PA - Congressman Matt Cartwright will attend United Way of the Lehigh Valley’s annual TeenWorks dinner and awards ceremony, which will honor exceptional community service projects and recognize committed members of the board of directors.

TeenWorks provides grants to teens and youth-based organizations to complete community-service projects throughout the Lehigh Valley. The board is comprised of teens and adult community members.

The Congressman will address the crowd on the value of investing in our youth and providing them with opportunities to serve as well as to lead. He applauds TeenWorks for their success encouraging so many young people to help those in need and improve their communities. “We must each examine our lives and ask how we are serving others. How we can be the best possible role model for the next generation,” said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the Philanthropy Caucus.

Other attendees include former Teenworks participant and rising professional boxer now based in Scranton, James Kelleher; Anne Braum of Blue Cross; State Rep. Mike Schlossberg; and representatives from local school systems, labor unions, and area charitable organizations.
