Cartwright Applauds Senate Passage of Flood Insurance Relief Bill

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright applauded the passage of H.R. 3370, the Homeowner Flood Insurance Flood Affordability Act of 2014, in the Senate by a vote of 72-22, the President is expected to sign the legislation:

“The passage of H.R. 3370 will help guard against dramatic rate hikes in flood insurance premiums that have made many policies unaffordable, depressed home prices, and undercut the ability to buy or sell a home.

“Finally, lawmakers were able to reach a bipartisan agreement that will ensure relief for hundreds of homeowners living in flood prone areas right here in northeastern Pennsylvania.”
