Cartwright Announces $23,300 in USDA Funds to Kline Township

Schuylkill County, PA , August 22, 2018

Schuylkill County, PA – Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development division awarded a Community Facility grant totaling $23,300 to Kline Township.

The funds will be used to resurface nine sections of streets, totaling approximately 1.3 miles. The streets have deteriorated over the last 10 years and need resurfacing before the sub-material becomes unstable.

“I am a full-throated advocate for programs like this, which help our small towns maintain vital infrastructure,” said Rep. Cartwright a member of the House Appropriations Committee. “We need to remain committed to programs like those available through USDA Rural Development to maintain the economic vitality and quality of life in our rural communities.”

The USDA Community Facilities Programs fall within the scope of USDA Rural Development, which offers a broad portfolio of programs to improve the lives of rural Americans.
