Cartwright Hosts Telephone Town Hall on COVID-19

More than 3,000 Joined Rep. Cartwright’s Second Telephone Town Hall Focused on the Coronavirus Pandemic

 On Tuesday evening, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (PA-08) hosted a telephone town hall to discuss the federal response to COVID-19, his second telephone town hall event focused on COVID-19 in three weeks. Cartwright was joined by:

  • Mr. Joseph Boylan, Executive Director, Wilkes-Barre Connect
  • Mr. Stephen Ursich, Vice President, Business Development Services Division, NEPA Alliance
  • Dr. William Dewar, Chief of Medical Staff, Wayne Memorial Hospital
  • Dr. John Brinker, Senior Medical Director for Primary Care in the St. Luke’s University Health Network’s East Region
  • Mr. Donald Seiple, President, St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus

Cartwright and the guest speakers took questions on the eligibility for small business loans and unemployment benefits under the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the availability of coronavirus testing, direct cash payments for older Americans on Social Security, what is being done to address and contain the outbreaks among local employees at essential workplaces and more.
