Cartwright Announces $4.1 Million DoT Grant for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport

Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $4,125,727 grant to the Counties of Lackawanna and Luzerne.  The federal grant is intended for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

The grant will enable the airport to extend Taxiway B, a path connecting the runway with the airport’s facilities.

“The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport serves as an economic gateway for northeastern Pennsylvania.  This grant will enable the airport to continue the process of improving its facility and, by extension, service for passengers,” said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the Congressional General Aviation Caucus – a bipartisan group whose mission is to inform Members of Congress about the importance of aviation to the nation's economy.
