Hazleton Integration Project's next attack on Hunger

After serving 269,574 meals during the past year, Hazleton Integration Project put students in charge of doubling the fight against hunger.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, said the level of support that the HIP Center received over the years warmed his heart.

“It’s wonderful work you are doing here, and I thank you for it,” Cartwright said. “We can make sure no one has to wonder where their next meal is coming form.” 

Curry said a $1.15 million grant from Cartwright sustains education and food programs at the center.  Cartwright said he is most impressed that HIP Center is educating and equipping young people to address food issues.
