  • Cartwright Speaks on the House Floor Regarding Cuts to Local Housing Authorities

"In Northampton County, PA, 85 people must leave the section 8 voucher program through turnover, or there will be evictions. In Luzerne County, PA – 900 people will be removed from the program’s waiting list...This Congress is being penny-wise and pound-foolish."
  • Rep. Cartwright to Host Academy Day

“Throughout our nation’s history, U.S. Service Academies have played an important role in preparing young people for service to our country. Pennsylvania never has been short of patriotic young men and women willing to step forward and answer the call of duty. It is my honor to help them take advantage of the opportunities provided by these institutions because preparing tomorrow's generation of leaders is critical to our success in the future.”
  • Cartwright Fights for Tobyhanna Army Depot in Testimony Before the Armed Services Committee

"In my district alone, Tobyhanna Army Depot, the army’s only C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) depot, generates $1.68 in economic activity for every dollar invested. Additionally, every job at Tobyhanna generates two and half jobs in the larger local community."
  • Cartwright Adresses Schuylkill County Business Leaders

Thanks to the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce for having me as their keynote speaker to a crowd of over 250 people at their luncheon last week. Here I am with Jim Bohorad, Outgoing Chamber President, Mark Fanelli, Incoming Chamber President, and Bob Carl, Executive Director of the Chamber.
  • BAE Jessup Celebrates Production of 1 Millionth Combat Helmet

Congratulations to the BAE Systems employees in Jessup who have reached this outstanding achievement. These employees are making our region proud through exceptional expertise and workmanship. More importantly, they’re helping protect our warfighters with lightweight, life-saving equipment. The work that they do is creating excellent paying jobs locally in Jessup and is also strengthening our nation’s security.
