The committee examined serious data breaches that occurred last year at the agency's two contractors, KeyPoint Government Solutions and USIS.

Cartwright had the honor or presenting Dr. Joseph Schectman of Scranton with his Bronze Star for Valor he displayed in the Battle of the Bulge, north of Bastogne, fearlessly running messages as the U.S. 106th Infantry Division was under massive assault by Nazi Panzer Divisions. One of 9 medals presented to Dr. Schectman.
U.S. Congressman Matt Cartwright and U.S. Senator Bob Casey called on the U.S. Army Corps to fully support the feasibility study of Solomon Creek in Luzerne County. The creek is in close proximity to a residential area, school, hospital, and utilities, all of which could suffer damage if the creek were to flood in the event of a major storm.
