H.R. 6482
This bipartisan bill honors the promise made to the American people to address the gross injustice suffered by Marines serving at Camp Lejeune. Although it will not erase the mistakes made at the oldest U.S. Marine Corps base, it will make it easier for victims to receive financial support for their life-altering injuries by allowing those who were injured because of the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune, and their family members, to bring suit before the district court for the Eastern District of North Carolina to present evidence for injuries caused by the toxic exposure.
H.R. 6482 was included in the
Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act of 2022 and signed into law by President Joseph Biden on August 10, 2022.
