Enacted Legislation

As a Member of Congress, I'm actively involved in sponsoring and drafting legislation about issues that are important to you. A strong believer in working with members of both political parties, I've introduced more bills with Democratic and Republican support than any other House Democrat since I was first elected. As a result, I was named one of the most effective House Democrats by the nonpartisan Center for Effective Lawmaking.

I've also succeeded in authoring and passing 12 substantive bills into law, signed and enacted by the last three Presidents.

Please contact my offices to share your thoughts on current legislation that may affect you, your family and your community.
