Cartwright Announces $99,237 in HHS Grants to St. Luke’s – Miner’s Campus

Coaldale, PA – Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Agency (HHS) awarded a $99,237 Rural Health Network Development Grant to St. Luke’s Miner Memorial Hospital.

The Rural Health Network Development Planning Grant Program provides grants to promote the planning and development of health care networks in order to achieve efficiencies; expand access, coordinate, and improve the quality of essential health care services; and strengthen the rural health care system as a whole.

“We need to support efforts to align resources and strategies in the changing health care landscape in order to provide everyone with access to affordable, quality care, “said Rep. Cartwright, a member of the House Appropriations Committee.  “This grant helps our health care providers move towards integration and coordination of clinical services, population health, and patient engagement.”

Rural Health Network Grants encourage innovations and creative approaches in adapting to a changing health care environment that may serve as a model to other rural communities and are overseen by HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration Agency.
