Cartwright Announces $100,000 Economic Development Administration Grant to The Da Vinci Discovery Center of Science and Technology

Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced that The Da Vinci Discovery Center of Science and Technology received a $100,000 federal grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA). This grant will provide funding for a study of the proposed Science Center and Aquarium envisioned for downtown Easton.

The study will focus on accessing the potential of the project, define market areas, perform market research, and develop a business plan. Completion of the project would help the area develop a more diverse community, create jobs, and strengthen the all-around local economy.

“I want cities with unlimited potential like Easton to have the opportunity to fully realize their vision and nurture the elements that make them wonderful places to live and work,” said Rep. Cartwright. I applaud The Da Vinci Discovery Center of Science and Technology on receiving this competitively-awarded funding and will continue to be an advocate for investments in Northampton County.”

The Da Vinci Science Center is a national award-winning science center that has brought science to life and lives to science since 1992.
