Cartwright Welcomes Ball Corporation’s Investment in Pittston

World’s Largest Aluminum Can Manufacturer to Invest Over $300 Million in Pittston Over Multiple Years, Create 230 New Manufacturing Jobs

U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (PA-08) today welcomed Ball Corporation’s announcement that the company will build a new aluminum beverage packaging plant in Pittston, creating 230 new manufacturing jobs through an investment of more than $300 million over multiple years. Production is expected to begin by the middle of 2021.

“Northeastern Pennsylvania has hard workers, easy access to interstate highways and land primed for economic development – just a few of the reasons that make it a great place for people to live and for businesses to invest. I’m proud that Ball Corporation recognized our promise and chose our area as the home of its newest plant,” Cartwright said. “We’re excited to welcome the company and the new manufacturing jobs it will bring to Pittston as we look to get Northeastern Pennsylvanians safely working again.”

According to the company’s announcement, potential candidates can find information about employment opportunities at the forthcoming site on its careers webpage.
