Cartwright Announces $82,143 HRSA Grant to the Wright Center Medical Group

Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright announced that the Wright Center Medical Group received a $82,143 federal grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  HRSA operates under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and works to improve health care among underserved and vulnerable populations.

The Wright Center Medical Group will receive funds from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Part C grant program. These grants are awarded to community-based medical facilities that provide comprehensive outpatient care and support to those living with HIV. Recipients are required to allocate grant funds primarily for early intervention and core medical services, and secondarily for administrative purposes.

“I applaud the Wright Center in being recognized for the critical services it provides Northeastern PA residents,” said Rep. Cartwright. “Health care is a basic need and a right, and I will continue to be an advocate for federal grants that help improve our health system’s capacity to meet community needs.

The Wright Center operates the largest Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education consortium in the country as well as nine primary care facilities. For over 40 years, the Wright Center has delivered high-quality medical services and provided medical educational opportunities to Northeastern Pennsylvanians.
