Biden signs veterans benefits bill that includes Cartwright legislation

An area congressman visited the White House Wednesday to watch President Joe Biden sign a new veterans benefits law that contains provisions he wrote.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, appeared with dozens of other lawmakers, veterans and their families as Biden signed the “burn pits” law that also helps Marines sickened from drinking contaminated water while training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, between Aug. 1, 1953 and Dec. 31, 1987.
