Cartwright Introduces Bipartisan Bill to Revitalize Rural Communities, Create Jobs

Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright introduced bipartisan legislation that would stimulate rural economic development. The Transformative Hiring in Rural Industries and Vital Economies (THRIVE) Act would establish an interagency council to determine ways to best utilize rural federal investments.

“Many rural communities feel forgotten or left behind,” said Rep. Cartwright. “The THRIVE Act would spur economic development in rural communities, while ensuring these federal investments are utilized in the most efficient way possible. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this important bill.”

The THRIVE Act revives the Rural Council, which was replaced in 2017. This bill allows the Rural Council to continue its important work to expand and improve rural economic development.
