Congressman Matt Cartwright held a virtual press conference regarding President Biden’s American Jobs Plan.

Homecare workers in the commonwealth discussed how investments in care for families could help bring more Pennsylvanian’s back to work.

According to a White House Fact sheet, homecare workers earn on average $12 per hour, putting them among the lowest paid workers.

"When we're able to take care of folks at home, we save our country, our economy we save an enormous amount of money because we're not taking up institutional space," said Congressman Cartwright.

The American Jobs Plan proposal calls for $400 billion to expand access to quality, affordable home or community based services for aging relatives and people with disabilities.
