Dozens of Local Health Care Providers Benefit from $7.7M in Federal Pandemic Relief Funding

Dozens of local health care providers and suppliers will benefit from $7.7 million in federal pandemic relief funding.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resources and Services Administration, recently began distributing $7.5 billion in American Rescue Plan Rural payments to providers and suppliers who serve rural Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program and Medicare beneficiaries.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, announced his district's ARP Rural funding allocations Thursday, calling the $7.7 million "critical to ensuring rural communities have access to high-quality and affordable health care services." It will help local providers keep their doors open, address workforce challenges, replace lost revenue and manage increased expenses prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, he said in a press release.
