Cartwright seeks $61 million in federal money for local NEPA projects

“I am thrilled to build off last year’s success with this new round of $61 million in project funding that’s aimed at creating jobs, driving local economic growth and improving the quality of life for our communities,” Cartwright said.

Federal cash totaling nearly $61 million could be on the way for a host of local projects, including a university research center, an emergency operations facility, new police equipment, flood protection and a performing arts center.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, requested the House Appropriations Committee fund the projects across Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Monroe and Pike counties.
