Nearly $1 million in federal funding will support a Geisinger nurse education initiative, U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, announced Wednesday.

The $972,980 in funding will be administered by Geisinger School of Nursing within the Geisinger College of Health Sciences. The school will use it to develop learning modules for nurses interested in taking on additional educational roles as preceptors or clinical instructors, Geisinger College of Health Sciences Associate Dean for Nursing Student Education Rebecca Stoudt said in Cartwright's press release.
