Cartwright Announces Start of Open Enrollment for ACA Healthcare Coverage
WASHINGTON, DC,
November 1, 2022
Today, U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright (PA-08) released the following statement on the first day of the 2023 ACA open enrollment period. Americans must sign up by Dec. 15, 2022, to have coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2023. The open enrollment period ends Jan. 15, 2023: “Open enrollment begins today for the Affordable Care Act marketplace, and I encourage Northeast Pennsylvanians to visit www.pennie.com to browse the affordable, high-quality healthcare plans available for 2023. Visit the state’s website to compare plans, estimate premium costs, and register for coverage. Through the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, I voted to expand important tax credits to reduce monthly health-care premiums for thousands in our district. As a result, NEPA families will get more help with their premiums and can save an average of $800 per year and $2,400 per family. I encourage everyone – including those already enrolled in ACA coverage – to log onto the Pennsylvania exchange by Dec. 15 to make sure they have signed up for a plan that best serves their needs. For twelve years, the Affordable Care Act has been the key to health coverage for millions of working families, seniors and people with pre-existing conditions. The historic legislation also eliminated lifetime caps and provided greater financial stability to rural hospitals, including those right here in Northeast Pennsylvania. I will continue fighting to build on our progress of lowering prescription drug costs, protecting people with pre-existing conditions, and capping out-of-pocket medical expenses so that more Northeast Pennsylvanians can access affordable, quality medical care." |
