Funding requests for 15 community projects in Northeast Pennsylvania were included in the 2023 federal omnibus spending package that was passed last week.

Representative Matthew Cartwright announced that $52.7 million in federal funding will make its way to the 8th District of Pennsylvania to benefit 15 projects that promote economic development, expand medical and mental health services, and provide infrastructure upgrades, as well as support area law enforcement, police and first responders.

Area projects include storm pipe replacement in Milford Borough, a paving and resurfacing project for State Route 590 in Lackawaxen Township, and a multi-county United Way program to provide education and support services for at-risk children and their families.
