Matt Cartwright announced $15M is coming to NEPA

Congressman Matt Cartwright is bringing $15.35 million back to NEPA.

According to officials, on March 25 Congressman Cartwright announced $15.35 million in federal funding will be coming to northeastern Pennsylvania.

Congressman Cartwright breaks down how much funding will be given out throughout NEPA.

  • Local Law Enforcement and Emergency First Responders – $2.6 million
  • Transportation and Infrastructure Upgrades – $8.84 million throughout Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, and Pike Counties.
  • The Return of Passenger Rail from NEPA to NYC – $1.6 million
  • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Terminal Expansion and Improvements – $980,000
  • State Route 209/Hamilton West Resurfacing – $980,000
  • Bridge Rehabilitation on State Route 6 over the Delaware River – $980,00
  • Clinton Township Wastewater Treatment Plan Clarifier Replacement – $959,757
  • Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority East Interceptor Rehabilitation Project – $959,757
  • Brodhead Creek Regional Authority Water Main Replacement – $1 million
  • Lackawanna County Dam No. 5 Spillway Rehabilitation Project – $1,383,069
  • Blakely Healthy Living and Wellness Center – $1 million
  • Industrial Hemp Collaboration – $2.9 million

Officials note this is the third year in a row that Congressman Cartwright secured funding for all his Community Project Funding requests in the fiscal year 2024.
