Pocono Mountain Regional EMS to receive more than $150K in federal funding

First responders in Monroe County are getting a big financial boost from the federal government.

Pocono Mountain Regional EMS will receive $158,487 to purchase one automatic chest compression device and two defibrillators, according to a news release from U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright's office.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded more than $2 million in federal funding to support 20 northeastern Pennsylvania firefighters and first responders through its Assistance to Firefighters and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants grant programs, Cartwright's office said.
