U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, announced the second installment of a federal grant of nearly $4.9 million for Luzerne County Head Start for 2021.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant disbursement will be used for the continuation of high quality, comprehensive, early childhood education for children in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties.

Head Start programs provide children with education services focused on early learning, health and family well-being.
