Federal omnibus spending package includes major funding for NEPA projects

All 15 of Cartwright’s Community Project Funding requests — supporting projects from a university research center and an emergency operations facility to police technology upgrades — were included in the final spending package.

The nonprofit Friendship House will receive $1.5 million in federal funding to support its project establishing a “whole person care center” in the heart of downtown Scranton.

It’s one of 15 local projects and initiatives in the 8th Congressional District that will benefit from a share of $52.7 million in funding included in the massive, $1.7 trillion federal omnibus spending package , U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, Moosic, announced.
