Wyoming Area Regional Police dedicates new station, the former state police barracks

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, of Moosic, was on hand for the dedication of the new headquarters to announce he secured $973,000 in federal funding for the department for new cruisers, body cameras and other equipment.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Department on Friday dedicated its new home, snipping crime scene tape with giant scissors outside the former state police barracks on Wyoming Avenue.

Before that, they displayed a giant ceremonial check for nearly $1 million.

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-8, of Moosic, was on hand for the dedication of the new headquarters to announce he secured $973,000 in federal funding for the department for new cruisers, body cameras and other equipment.

 

“This is a momentous occasion. It’s something I’m hoping other regions would take note of,” Cartwright said. “You pulled it off. You have done it.”
